Why this site exists

Most zakat calculators online hand you a number and never say where it came from. When one disagrees with another, you have no way to judge which to trust or why they differ. This site is built on the opposite principle: every result sits beside its basis — the standard behind it, the school of law where the question is disputed, and the limits of what the tool can tell you.

Every calculation runs inside your browser. Your figures are not sent to a server and are not stored by us, and you can verify that by disconnecting from the internet after the page loads — the calculators keep working.

What the numbers rest on

The zakat nisab is computed from a live gold price rather than a fixed figure that quietly goes stale, with a fallback that takes over if the source fails — and says so rather than hiding it. The Hijri converter follows the Umm al-Qura calendar and rejects a date that does not exist with a message explaining why, instead of silently rounding to the nearest day. The inheritance calculator passes twenty-three reference cases with known answers, covering awl, radd, the two Umariyyah cases and exclusion.

The Sharia basis, and its limits

The calculators follow AAOIFI standards: No. 35 for zakat, No. 8 for murabaha, No. 13 for mudarabah, No. 17 for sukuk. Where a question is disputed we say so and name the opposing position — as with the grandfather and brothers, where this tool follows the Hanafi view while the majority hold otherwise, so anyone following another school will find their share stated differently here. The inheritance cases have not yet been reviewed by a Sharia board, and we say that plainly on the page itself. What you get here is a calculation to work from and a method to understand, not a fatwa that removes the need to ask a scholar who knows your situation.

How to check this yourself

We would rather you not take our word for any of this. Open any calculator and disconnect from the internet — it keeps working, because the calculation runs in your browser. Open your browser's developer tools and watch the network while you type: you will not find a single request carrying what you entered.

Every figure here carries its basis alongside it: the standard, the school of law where schools differ, and what has not yet been reviewed. If you find an error — in a calculation, in how a position is reported, or in a link — tell us. Correcting it serves us better than leaving it.
